newthinking was established in 2003 and has been been active in various fields at the intersection of digital technologies and society.

We have been supporting our partners on the road to digitization since the get-go and see ourselves as part of a bigger project network. Projects such as netzpolitik.org and re:publica, which are closely linked to our founders Markus Beckedahl and Andreas Gebhard, have emerged from these collaborations.

Our versatile team combines competence and experience in a wide variety of areas. From event know-how over web services to communication and consulting, we are united in our search for customers, partners and projects, committed to the goal of an open and free society, based on sustainable knowledge.

newthinking stands for to using the opportunities of digitization without giving up civil rights and freedom. newthinking is committed to open, collaborative and participative systems and processes. Starting with our work computers to the software used for customers and partners we work with Free Software and Open Source. We organize our events for and with open source communities. Anyone can participate in the Call for Papers. Our program committee evaluates the proposals anonymously via our event system to ensure high quality talks. Conferences, barcamps, hackathons or sprints: Our focus always lays in the exchange of knowledge and experience.
